Establishing small projects and improving livelihoods

The main objective of the project is to reduce the socio-economic vulnerabilities of the Aljamea camp and to enhance resilience. This goal will be achieved by developing sustainable livelihoods by supporting the livelihoods of the most affected families, providing appropriate training programs and supporting young people that enable them to integrate with the labor force and reduce the number of unemployed people in the camp.

The idea of the project is based on training the beneficiaries to establish small projects and support a group of projects that meet the criteria of weakness in the university camp and follow-up with the beneficiaries of the grants provided throughout the project period and highlight success stories and follow-up after the end of the project period to try to continue the sustainability of their projects.

Project “Sawyan – Empowering Civil Society in northwest Syria” funded by the European Union, which includes the establishment of a local development network in Idlib Governorate under the name of Sawyan Network.

Sawyan Network aims to:

  • Information-sharing on humanitarian needs and service aspects in Idlib governorate, according to the information available to the members of the network and mobilizing as well as advocating to meet these needs at all levels.
  • Experiences-exchanging and sharing success stories and good practices from the previous and current projects that the network members implemented.
  • Sharing capacity-building opportunities with the members of the network to contribute to the empowerment of administrative and volunteer staff.
  • Increasing coordination, cooperation, and networking among the network members to save efforts, time, and cost, avoid duplication and reach the most significant possible number of families and the most vulnerable individuals.
  • Joint work for funding opportunities and applying for them in the form of a consortium to meet the needs of the current stage in northwest Syria and the priorities of donors in various sectors.

The entities that can apply for network membership?

  • Syrian civil society grassroots organizations operating in northwest Syria.
  • Youth and women volunteer teams working in northwest Syria. The conditions for joining the Sawyan network: The organization or team should be:
  • 1. Operating within northwest Syria.
  • 2. A clear profile includes their mission, vision, and goals.
  • 3. Preference for having a registration in Syria and/or Turkey.
  • 4. Preference for having a field office.
